Default Subwoofer Amp Recommendation Needed

Can anyone recommend a good, small, subwoofer amp that would go between my Alpine CDE-102 and a Dayton QT210-4 subwoofer (8" 4 ohm, 150W RMS/300W peak) that's fitted in a KLA sub enclosure in the passenger rear well of my 1983 944?

Also, where can I hide the amp?

The other speakers in the system are two rear Infinity Kappa 462.9cfp 4x6 speakers in the rear seat side walls and two Infinity Reference 1031t 1" dome tweeters in the front.

Many thanks.

My amp is currently not hidden- hanging from the side back there. I'm planning on relocating it into the wheel well storage area, but a potential problem with that is lack of aitflow...

Don't mind the luggage... Here you can see, my 12" rockford on the left, and amp/cap on the right.

Thanks, Butters944. Looks like a nice setup but I'm going to try to find a hidden solution if I can...

I mounted an alpine PDX 1.600 on a board and popped it in with the spare tire, i use a wedge in front of the amp board to keep it from flopping around. It fits inside the spare, has enough wire length to be moved if i need the spare, and its hidden the rest of the time. Not a bad setup, heat is not an issue at all.

Hi Arominus,

Thanks. That's a brilliant idea! If it's not too much trouble would you mind posting a picture?

Thanks again.

Might check out Arc Audio amps.

XDi 805 5 channel:

Their 4 channel version (XDi 804) (not my picture):

And Rockford Fosgate has some new mini amps, although the specs don't really fit your sub. You could use the 4 channel to run the speakers, and find a compact mono though. Again, not my picture.

Ok, heres a pic. this is in no way my final install for the car, so its pretty ghetto fabulous. But it works and its buying me time till the spring when i can pull the car apart and do a proper install. The hatch carpet keeps the wedge down and the wedge keeps the board from moving/pivoting forward. Its easy to remove in case i need the spare.

Im using the amp to power an alpine 8" type R in the KLA box which i modded for some additional volume (.3ish cu.ft vs .23cu.ft). Im really thinking about a second KLA and type R so having a 600w amp is only going to be overkill for a little while

Thanks. Like many on the list, I like good clean sound and don't particularly need or want a unit that will shake the foundations of nearby buildings. I also would like the installation to be as minimalist as possible, so as not to invite the attention of passersby and to preserve the looks and space of the car. So these solutions leave the car pretty much intact with the exception of adding a couple of small dome tweeters in the front. The photos and hiding places are much appreciated.
