Default Por-ghia

Found this on craigslist, no affiliation. I found it really cool! (it's a karmann ghia with a 944 chassis)

very unique. but I don't understand converting to front engine... it's not a gia if the motor is up front.

They only put the porsche drive train under the ghia.. Why convert a 944 to rear engine, just to fit the ghia style..?

Been posted many times before here. Great workmanship but not sure who would buy it.

Other than the paint job, very cool. I would drive it in a heartbeat.

As much as I do enjoy wrenching, I would NOT want to have to wrench on the front end of the engine...

It says the look is "stunning;" most people don't take such a literal interpretation there. so close to Mexico, too...who'da thunk it?

but yeah paint it some proper K-G color, ditch the wing, trade the phone dials for early 911 steelies with center caps and that would be a heck of a sleeper.

Love Ghias myself...had one. Mine would leave that thing standing with it's original type 1 chassis. the concept is fun to think about. I'm not sure 2500 miles is a 'proven' driver.

I don't mean to be "that guy," but why a 944 chassis? There are plenty of cheaper/more powerful/more reliable/lighter options out there
