Default 951 bumper question for NA

OK I did search may be I missed it but heres my question.
This weekend some nice person rubbed my right side fender and valance, the valance already need work so no big deal but they just dented and lightly scratched the fender also so it will require a shop visit, it will be my insurance since they did a runner and note may be they didn't notice
So here's the question can you fit the 951 front to the NA with out hacking the front fenders (I would like to keep the body work original and not attack it). Can all the mods be done to the 951 front only or would I be better going a custom route.
Extra background is that I will want to add extra cooling for a upcoming SC and intercooler fitment, which I had palnned to do my modifying the NA bumper.

Short answer, no. This pic illustrates the difference between the two fenders. You'll recognize the NA shape. Supposedly you can modify the NA fender to the turbo style.

You need the complete front end but for ther hood to make the change without cutting up something.

Fenders
Bumper and Bumper support
Front Panel, (can't recall name right now)
Headlight covers and black plastic headlight surrounds
foglights & wiring

I may have missed some small parts but that's most of it.

Won't fit. To do a proper conversion you need bumper cover, head light covers, header panel, both front fenders, bumper support, etc...

I did it without having to change all the above items. If you can find a aftermarket turbo bumper for the N/A all you will need in addition will be the lights, the shorter bumper shocks with the metal bumper for the turbo.

You can get a "turbo look" bumper for N/A from Automotion.com, but again - it's costly and you'll need turbo bumper shocks, bumper support and lights (fog and turn)

you can just modify the NA fenders as shown above. the other parts will need to be 951 bits. you will need to adapt the 951 lights to the NA wiring, but the marker lights are the same

My friend Jason put a 951 bumper on his NA and didn't replace anything else. I take it that's what Sands did. The straighter line of the NA header panel doesn't work perfectly with the rounder line of the 951 bumper, but it works ok. My friend cut the corners off of the fenders like in the first post, but you could also notch the bumper if you want to keep your fenders unmodified.

I have a fiberglass turbo-look front bumper for an NA. I always wondered what it's worth. Anyone? It has the bumper support and shocks too!

IMO those aftermarket na to turbo conversions just don't look right. The first time you are next to a real turbo/S2 you will be disappointed. Just an opinion might work for you. As for putting the real turbo/S2 front end without changing the header and light pods/covers, why would you do that? You've already changed the most expensive parts, pick up cheap used header panel, light pods and covers, spray them up to match and finish the job.

I know AIR makes a turbo look front bumper for the N/A. I've been wanting one for years but I think that'll be on my next car if it's not a turbo. I'm wanting a euro front bumper for my 89 right now.

Just thought I'd post up these options I found:
http://www.automotion.com/turbo-bump...1983-1989.html
http://www.americaninternationalraci...259246&page=74

I think the one I have is AIR, because the lower of the short air vents has those 2 trusses in it. To me, it looks like a great piece, shaped very well.

I'm trying to sell mine locally, with a 951 bumper support. Anyone know what a 951 bumper support is worth?

Thanks for the links I hadn't seen the American International parts. The bumoer support seem go around $100 with shocks on e-bay
I haven't decided what I'm going to do, looking on ebay I could probably do the swop for around $1000 (the lights are expensive) including painting, right now this is low priority.

There are probably enough turbos being parted on here that you wouldn't need to use e-bay. I've got one in my garage right now along with the bumper cover. Hit me up if you're interested.
