I don't believe that the auto glass company knows what they're talking about. beware of "bait and switch" here. Even the "experts" are reluctant to do one of these. Everyone is an experiment. Kinda like the oil pan gasket

I'm going to hold them to their quote. I might get my hatch tinted before getting resealed.

It'll look good until it starts to separate from the sun and then getting it off without destroying the rear window defroster will be impossible. I've seen a few and it's ugly.

What are the symptoms I should be looking out for, btw? Mine is getting pretty squeaky under the new every-other-day driving regimine...

UPDATE: reviewed this on Clark's and solved the problem! The rear hatch posts just needed to be adjusted. I loosened the locking nuts, squirted some WD-40 in there (since it was vertical), then had to use vice grips (obviously have never been adjusted before) and screwed them in clockwise one turn each. Tightened the locking nut on both again, carefully closed the hatch (squirted some WD-40 into the mechanisms for good measure as well), and found it shut a little tighter. Test drive, and sure enough, no more (or much less) hatch squeaking! PHEW.
