Rear hatch reseal
Would it be a bad idea to reseal the top portion of my hatch but also use some sealant to glue the top trim piece into place? I think it might last a little longer.

I forced some silicone seal into the gap between the metal frame and the glass 7 or 8 ago, it really tightened it up and got rid of squeaks. Not sure what you mean by trim piece.

The most appropriate sealant to use is polyurethane.

Are you sure they aren't just quoting a new hatch seal plus install (on the body) versus actually resealing the glass to the frame?

The told me that is a remove and replace glass price of doing the rear hatch. I was really shocked to hear that. She said it would be a lot more for a brand new hatch though. I mentioned what was wrong with mine and what needed to be done to fix it and she said that is a standard removal and reseal. They will primer the glass and reinstall it with new sealant. Sounded pretty legit to me?

The guy's shop I have my car at right now said Hell No. He has done a lot of work with 944's. he said no matter what he did they always split again. Safelite there might be a warranty involved. I am looking at options since I am going to have the rear glass tinted.
