pnbell: I will look definitely start looking! Where is the cheapest place I can find a dansk exhaust though?
I even though SFR would make a nice fit on my car, but how does it sound on an NA?

Dougs951 : I will be looking into the electric one because I want to replace a fake fill in button on the center console with an aircraft style switch.

just put on a dansk ss cat back on my car today. my only complaint is that its doesnt have a hanger bracket because they placed a pre-muffler in that spot for the s2 model, so i am getting some vibration in the car which i will have to fix (doesnt help that a muffler hanger bolt broke ), but other than that....man does it sound throaty with a cat delete.

I got mine from Automotion; least expensive place i found.. SFR i think caters more to 944Turbos, and i believe their exhausts are larger than stock diameter. On an NA you might gain a little power on the top end... But low end torque may suffer and sound might not be crisp...
Air craft switch to that Exhaust mod would be Sick!!! if you do this: Please Post a DIY!!

That's a Bummer... the 2.5na exhaust does not have this pre-muffler and fitment was perfect. Hopefully you can rig something up to eliminate that vibration... i bet on the 3.0l with no cat this exhaust sounds great! If you have a chance to post a video please do.. I am goin to try too with mine soon..

Well I think part of my problem is that the front hanger isn't really bearing the load of the exhaust as it should cause I installed it in a hurry, so I'm crawling back underneath tomorrow morning to mend the issues. I'll try to get some video of it if I can get my hands on a device with good audio.

Actually after installing my exhaust it vibrated against the Tunnel.. I loosened the bolts, pryed it down with a long bar, and tightened the bolts. No More Vibration! Hopefully yours it the same!

pnbell: If I do the valve I would probably have someone weld it in for me because I have no idea how to weld, same thing for wiring last time I messed with wiring it cost me an entire harness.
My plan is to put the valve behind the rear muffler which will be mounted at an angle so it will leave just enough room for a second tip, making it a semi true dual.
So If I do get the exhaust you suggest prying it lower?
944meister: On an 83 NA would it make it throatier or a ricer if I replace the cat with a pre or take it out completely?

I didn't think to pry it down but that should fix my problem cause it is rattling a little, thx for the tip. LP944 As far as the exhaust for a 2.5l I'm not really sure, naturally a 3.0l sounds a little different.

Of all the mufflers out there i would shoot for a Borla you cant go wrong.a nice deep tone thats not overboard.you can find them on ebay or prefferably right from their site where you can get the exact size you want.the stainless ones r pretty cheap.

Update* I take back the remark of it being too loud, it must have been exaggerated by the rattling. It is not loud at all at cruising speeds and sounds ANGRY! when I take it to redline.

On another note, I wonder how a cat with resonator/premuffler minus the muffler would sound, as it would eliminate mass at the end of the exhaust.

It would be an interesting experiment. I think it would probably be too loud for most street applications.

I intend to put two butterfly valves on my exhaust this winter. Both tips will go to the back so it will be a dual exhaust. and I will have them both operate with one switch, one loud mode and then normal. Of course with a jet fighter style toggle switch!
