not sure you're getting the penetration...but at least the bead is better.

With the welder i have it doesnt get any better than this. It's a 120 amp flux core mig with only 2 setting wire speed.

If your concerned about the weld penetration the best test is to practice on some scraps and take a hammer (air powered is easier) and chisel and just attack it. The weld should take base metal with it, if it breaks off clean then it was too cold / no penetration.
Sorry if I'm telling you what you already know.

The 2 center pieces could have also just been bolted to the base. The design can always be improved.

I finished it a while ago but mounted it today although it will be some time until i can drive the car. So far it seems great ,real solid and no movement from the gearbox.

Nice work. You don't need those bushes at the bottom (when istalled) though, they have no purpose. Just the ones between the mount and the trans crossmember are sufficient.

I see your point but there is some reason to it. Also all the aftermarket ones are the same.
With the extra bushings on the bottom the mount can flex a bit more because it can move in all directions and that is a good thing because i want it to absorb all the vibrations possible, that is also why i wanted to use rubber bushings instead of polyeurethane. Also if the bolts would be in direct contact with the mount they can transmit vibration to the gearbox crossmember .
With the stock mount the gearbox has at least 5cm movement left and right , with this mount if you push real hard on it has only 3mm .
