I found out today that the 2.8L is a LOT faster than my 2.5L. A friend and I did a few runs and the 2.8L pulled hard.

Friday Im going to the drag strip so there will be videos from a stop. And maybe a few friendly sprints against a GTR, Viper, C5 Z06, C6 LS3, RS6, TT LS1, and a few other peppy cars.
ooooo can't wait... how much faster you think from a roll, once they are both on boost? i know the early n mid range of the 2.8 will be a lot better, but the top end shouldnt be all that different id guess. you running the same boost on them?

We both brake boosted 2nd gear at 40mph, three honks and go (the turbochargers were both spooled at the start). The 2.8L advanced 2 car lengths almost immediately and steadily kept pulling. The 2.5 is at 15lbs, the 2.8 is at 14lbs.

You know, my header panel is in pretty good shape... I'd trade you, but who knows exactly how the years have affected our paint jobs, there's a good chance they wouldn't be an exact match... we should just trade cars then..

Sounds like a good trade

Do you guys know how wide of tires I can fit on my 17" Boxster twists? I rented out Gingerman raceway with a few buddies and I need some tires by Friday. What's a good soft street tire? I have 205s up front and 235s in the rear. Id like wider.

Default Tires

255 is good and the Toyo R-888 are good street tires for track days

Are those really boxter twists in the pic?

I don't know your wheel widths, but if they will fit, I'd recommend the Falken Azenis RT-615K in 245/45/17 and 275/40/17

I track my Alfa on those tires (not those sizes), and they're absolutely awesome. And they're street legal, and fairly inexpensive.

There were a few issues I worked out before driving it home. if the issues were not addressed, the car wouldnt have made the commute.

I'm running 275/40/17 all the way around on mine with minimal rub, but I wouldnt go any larger. The meat really helps. I have the kuhmo victoracers on as well, but a good street option might be the Hankook Ventus V4.
