Default torque tube bearing placement

i ve read many threads (and clarks garage) on torque tube bearing replacement but none of them give specs for bearing placement. they all seem to say "measure and replace in the same location."

any advice for someone whos bearings appear to have walked back in the tube?

pull the driveshaft out of the tube, there will be marks on the shaft where the bearings ride, just measure to those marks from the ends of the shaft

good call. i do believe i saw some very light marks on the shaft.

that brings up another issue, i forgot to write down the shaft measurement. i intended to get the whole job done it one day but that did not happen... i believe the shaft suck out the front in about 6.125in. does this sound correct?

the torque tube itself isnt bad at all. i had it laying on the floor in two hours and that included bs time and looking for a missing socket.

getting the shaft and bearings out isnt quite as fun. to top it off i have the riveted carriers. so much for using the press down the street.

should be about right, i just measured on my spare tube and it is 5-7/8" but my tube is standing on end so the shaft should be flush with the rear bellhousing.
