About $3,000 with all the up and downs.
And I would like to post a official protest against odurandina's latest avatar pic, yes it's cool, but I look forward to the latest girl pic instead he normally has up.

ballpark.... i passed low-mile 996 money a while back. just curious to know how many of you all are getting close or have passed the H20-cooled 911 threshold (like this nice one in Zyclamrot w/ 60 k miles).

or am i flirting with the 944 'third rail' just by asking?

However I remember being on a PCA drive 5-6 years ago and one guy saw my Turbo S and lamented "I never should have sold my turbo." I asked him what he drove and pointed to a 996.
One man's opinion, but I will stick with my stock 144,750 mile Turbo S. I still have less in it than 18k despite picking up in 1997 and putting 55k on it.

Oil Change $45
Spray paint and sanding supplies for wheels $60
Clutch Hose $60

Purchased (in April 2008): $3900
Maintenance (shop): $3000+ (now it needs a new head gasket, dang it!)
General Repairs (myself): $800+ (just finished my latest repairs including reattaching the passenger door moulding and replacing the rear bumper pads)
As a college student this freakin car (plus tuition and cost of living) is putting me in the poor house, but dang do I love that car.

>$40K including racing a few times.
This is more than any other Porsche I've owned including 911s, 930, 996 and Cayenne. Having said this, it's a deal compared to other Porsche factory race cars with period race history.

944 turbo - owned 11 years - $65k (purchase price + upgrades + maintenance items)
996 C4 - owned 4 years - $25k (purchase price + maintenance items)
Of course I race the 944, so it's needed a lot of upgrades over the years. For the 996, it's only need a battery, 2 sets of tires, oil changes, brakes, an ABS sensor and a radiator fan.
I've put about 60k miles on the 944, so that's over a buck a mile. I've put about 30k miles on the 996, so that's about 83 cents a mile.
You've seen them - draw your own conclusions.
