Default WTB: Balance Shaft Pin Wrench

Doing my timing belts right now and I'm stuck removing the balance shaft pulleys. I tried 2 90 degree needle nose pliers and bent them both. Anyone have a pin wrench they want to sell before I go and buy a new one from arnnworx? Need it asap. Let me know. Thanks.

Are you handy enough to make one?

A piece of flat bar stock with two holes and two stout nails welded in?

unfortunately I am not. I've never welded before nor do i have the equipment to do so. By the way, I've been watching your timing belt videos over and over again to make sure I do this right. Thanks!

you can find some pins or punches that are the right size and stick a screwdriver between them in a pinch.

That tool is worth every dollar, best 50 bucks ive spent on a tool for the car. It works to retract the spring tensioner as well.

FWIW having used both the arnworx and factory wrenches, I have less issues with the factory one...

just saying..

might be why I own the factory wrench, not the arnworx one.. but I do have Bruce's rear wheel bearing tool, it is genius!

I need new pins for mine... used it to pry something once (I know, I know) and broke one off. Seemed like a simple roll pin, but my ability to find small mechanical/hardware in this big city of Fort Worth is lacking. What ever happened to hardware stores?!? Damn big box stores don't stock crap...

use plier style oil filter wrench on the pulley teeth. wrap pulley in a rag so u don't marr up the teeth.

of course the real tool is better. but that'll get it off if u don't have one
