Default Finding TDC with no TDC mark

Hey guys, I need help finding TDC on my car. It's an 86 N/A with fidanza aluminum flywheel. I didnt scribe a TDC mark on the flywheel. I was changing my camshaft seal, and attempting to put the timing belt back on when the engine turned. I'm pretty sure it turned because the belt got loose and the balance shaft belt marks don't line up.

So in order to find TDC, what can I do? Will putting some type or rod in spark plug hole #1 and turning the engine over till it is at its highest point work? The camshaft and cam gear are set to the correct mark, but the rest of the engine is off.
