Couldn't remember what this wire went to or its function. I've read what it was in the past but couldn't recall.

Thank you. Now visually I think there's no physical damage, but is there a way to test it, and yes, '84 model.

If you haven't visited this place do,they got tons of infos about your car www.clarks-garage.com (Click on Garage shop manual) are your fans coming one as they should? Just make sure that the connection on the sensor is clean & is making good contact.

Just to clarify, that sensor is for the water temp gauge on your dash. Doesn't control cooling fans.

that one's for the gauge. the blue connector just below is the DME's sensor. the fan thermoswitch on the radiator driver side

Thank you, I knew the blue connector was my DME temp sensor, and Clarks has a testing precedure to that, but thanks for all you responses. It was just hard to search or look up info on a small wire on the engine block that has no distinct look, but i'm glad everyone on here are geniuses.
