Lordco carries it but it is way more expensive than Canadian tire. I used to buy it from Canadian tire when it was on sale but they don't carry it anymore.
I just switched from mobil 15w50 to redline 20w50 but it is crazy expensive..... it's liek 15 dollars a litre here

for Vancouver the 5w-50 would be a far better choice for the year round. if you guys are ever near vero beach, the walmart there has every grade of mobil 1 including the 15w50 in the cheap, 5 quart jugs. up about 2 dollars from last year.
the idea of Mobil 1's 5w50 Rally Oil being to thin for any of our cars, old and new, freshly rebuilt or on it's last legs, (including full racing use) is silly.
it's actually too thick for the racing engines used in the Reilly and GT cars at the 24 hours of Daytona (they run mostly 0w20 and 0w30 synthetics including Mobil 1 0w30) but the rally oil is almost perfect for the Continental Series engines with larger spacing between moving parts..... and for our old clunkers and cold/cool Vancouver startup temps (incluiding the summer months)
oil/SAE grade ................... visc @ 104° F............................. visc @ running temp / 212°F
Redline 15w50 ....................... 138 ............................................... 19.6
Mobil 1 15w50 ....................... 125 ............................................... 18
Mobil 1 5w50 Rally Oil ............. 108 ............................................... 17.5
Mobil 1 0w50 Racing Oil .......... 100 ............................................... 17.2
Mobil 1 10w40 ........................ 96 ................................................ 14.7
Mobil 1 0w40 .......................... 75 ................................................ 13.5

There will be no problem running 10w40 for winter oil & switching back to 20w50 in the summer in your part of the wood.I know oil is kind of a personal choice mine was Valvoline VR1 racing oil & I'm pretty darn satisfy with it,so other people running it in their 968.

I use brad penn 20w-50 (summer) and M1 15w-50 (winter) in my S2. Both have documented higher zddp levels we need. Lots of threads out there about our cars needing high film stregth oils as well (or a 50 weight oil), so i would never use anything thinner than a 15w-50. Just saw 5 qts M1 15w-50 at walmart last week.....BP a little harder to get but great oil.

I've used M1 15-50 for years, but couldn't get it at last oil change. I opted for Amsoil 20-50 with ZDDP levels advertised at the highest levels for flat tappet motors. I paid $8.00 a qrt. for it and am surprised at how my oil pressure has stabilized. I always idled at 3.0 bar at the highest temps my car reaches. Now I'm holding at 3.5 bar at the lowest. I think I will stick with Amsoil even if the M1 makes it back into W-mart. M1 has reportedly gone thru several formulation changes over the years and not the oil it once was.
I'm also running Amsoil GL-4 in my trans and it's happier than its ever been.
Amsoil is readily available in my area right off the shelf.

I went looking for some Mobil 1 15W-50 for my next oil change and could not locate it a two local retailers. One clerk said they haven't carried it for a few months and it may have been discontinued? Has anyone heard otherwise? They did have 5W-50 but I would like the thicker viscosity for the warmer summer months or should I try something different?

Whalebird,
there's nothing drastically mysterious about it other than being like so many other of the popular 15w50 synthetics, the amsoil runs a bit on the thick side.... not necessarily better in every application, but definitely a good summer oil. i would never run something that thick (could as easily be labeled as a true 55 weight oil) in the winter though.
