Default Bigger Brakes?

I have an 85.5 944 na and just added 16" phones with 1 1/4" spacers up front will turbo/968 or Brembo brakes fit? if so what will I need or do they just bolt right up?
Thanks

Quite sure additional parts are required - I'm thinking spindle, hubs, backing plates. and, of course, calipers.
I have an extra set of 89 Turbo (m030) calipers.

Best bet would be to find someone parting out an '86 turbo and swap the hubs, spindles, rear control arms and master cylinder. Then you could use your same wheels (offset).

If you go with '87+ turbo parts (MO30 or regular), you'll have to change wheels for the new offset.

There are other options out there... didn't someone adapt lexus brakes to fit?

But, the big question should be: why do the change? Putting in a bunch more power? Have you joined the SCCA circuit? Is money burning a hole in your pocket? You like the "look"?

x2 on the "why"?

Would the Willwood front upgrade be enough? http://www.rennbay.com/944-big-brake-kit-p-83.html

ive got the wilwood brake kit. (bought it cheap second hand NIB)

braking performance and balance seems pretty good. my only complaint is that it does not increase the thickness of the disc.

They are band-aids. Try tracking that set-up and see where the fade goes.

One of the hybriders sold his set and got the Lexus/Boxster S setup. The small/thin factory rotor does not hold much heat. But for a daily driver, they worked fine he said under the 15's. Put them under 17's and see what happens. Another Hybrider has installed the Wilwood/ Cayenne 330mm combo in his 4.8L swap and he can report back on that. I tested them on my dual MC setup and they are beasts. I can't imagine what they would do boosted.

There is some miss-information here. To upgrade an 85.5na brakes to accept 86 turbo brakes you need to change: front struts, front spindles, front hubs, all calipers, discs and backing plates.

You do not need to change the rear arms or the master cylinder. You do however need the caliper spacers for the rear and the bias valve.

Those Willwoods are not even close to the turbo 4-pots. Fitted, tried, discarded. The only advantage would be if for some reason you wanted 4-pot calipers to fit under your 15in wheels. The Willwoods would do that but offer very little improvement from stock na brakes, which are actually very good.

I only mocked up the Larger Wilwood Superlite calipers. The 1.62 x 4 pistons would not require changing the stock MC. I used the 4 x 1.75 piston calipers on the Cayenne rotors. I can mock-up 6 pots with the Cayenne 350mm rotors, but then the calipers are VERY expensive.

i find it ironic that people speak down on the wilwood kit as not sufficient when most agree that the stock NA brakes are plenty for the car. like i said, i only wish they were thicker for heat reasons. a member of 924board.org tracks them on a 968 powered 924. he said he was pleased with the setup but recommended ducts.

i ended up getting getting the wilwoods, new pads for all four wheels, ss lines for all four corners, and spent less than $600. money well spent in my opinion. the 924/944 doesnt need as much brake as the 951/968.

ok so I have Zimmerman cross drilled rotors up front and metal Master pads, replaced the stock brake lines up front (haven't done the rears yet but have them I have to do rear rotors and pads) changed the fluid (ATE dot 4 Blue fluid) and will change it agin this winter when I redo the rears (I am getting a Motion bleeder)
so is this as good as it gets with out going crazy with changing every thing, I have never had any issues with my brakes...I was just wondering if the turbos bolted right in and it looks like thy don't.
