Default Help on Wheel Spacers

Hello all! Been a long while since I posted.

Lost my first 944 to a bad clutch, tried a TDI Jetta, and hated that it wasn't a 944, so I found another!

1986 944 NA, with a few modifications, and a newer paintjob. I will get pictures up when I get home from Afghanistan and put on all my new goodies!

Onto the matter at hand:

I need help determining spacers, and where to get them. I have ordered 19" rims, with tire measurements being 225/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear. The sale service representative advised me to get 21mm and 42mm spacers, but I have had trouble finding these exact measurements anywhere. If someone could advise me through a link to the correct spacers that I need in order to make these rims fit beautifully, it would be extremely helpful!

I had to have the spacers on my 85.5 na turned down by a machine shop to clear the grease caps on the fronts, so any machine shop can make a thicker spacer to what ever size you need (so long as it is not to thin)...pics please

Use a 3/4 on the front and 1" in the back

Thanks for the insight James.

TP, will those sizes only make the wheels fit, or will it put them out a bit, and make it the 'perfect' look?

You did not mention the wheel width
On the front you have to get the spacers machined ( bigger hole in the center ) so they fit over the Hub

You can use 1" on the front also
I dont know of any front spacers that do not require machining

I've heard you can run 5mm shim spacers to clear the gap, just take 5mm off whatever you get. Do more research though before you do it, don't want you messing up and having a pointless 5mm spacer laying around.

These fit perfectly without machining. Just choose your widths accordingly. Your car is early offset, so just subtract 23 from the wheel offset to get the correct spacer (This is also wheel width dependent, if the wheels are wider than 8in)

Do not skimp out on the spacers. The cheap spacers aren't hubcentric, and rely only on the lug nuts to hold the wheel centered. That is not what the lug nuts are for. The lip on the inside of the spacer holds the wheel centered on the spacer.

early offset despite being a late model? just making sure we're on the same page. definitely don't plan to skimp. i've been spending plenty on parts that it's either the best or not happening.

i understood hubcentric is the brand to go with, is that what you're saying, as well?

Maybe I missed something, but there are an awful lot of recommendations on spacers, but other than some tire sizes, there is no mention of the width of the rim and the offset/backspace... or are these late model Porsche wheels with known offsets? I don't want to see this guy buy some expensive adapters in the wrong size.
BTW 944online.com has bolt on adapters in various sizes. I used them on my early offset to run late offset 964 wheels with no issues.
