I just wanted to replace that plastic piece on my climate controls. My climate controls still worked as far as I know.

86,

i was gonna ask you, has this shop (w/ one of the worst reputations) under new management?

JP Werks

got a quote from them on rear brake rotors, pads transmission oil change, and fuel filter while traveling one time....

btw, KC has my favorite repair shop in the lower 48. Able Auto.

The shop I went to was KH automotive. One of the only shops around here that works with R12. The guy who owns/works there has been working on the 944's since new. They seemed like good people IMO.

Although the quote for repair was really high. So I am going to try and do this myself or get all the stuff done and the have someone professional vacuum the system down then fill it myself.

I'm going to have to find out more about the place that did your r12 refill. I haven't found anyone down here that messes with it anymore. Be worth the drive.

OK, well i installled the "New Ebay Compressor", Vacuumed/checked for leaks, and Filled the System... Ta-Da Cool air comes out my vents.

Actually we successfully Fixed a 924s, and my 944na! Bring it on Summer!

When ordering a Compressor, make sure it looks exactly like your current one. The 924s owner had ordered a compressor; it was larger in everyway, and would not fit at all... fortunatly his old compressor was actually fine!!

I ordered a reman compressor off of one of the online vendors and can't seem to find my emailed receipt but I swear it was around $300. I can picture the website, reminds me of Zim's but it's not Zim's. I'll try to dig it up when I get home tonight.

Works great. Recharged it with R12 - the A/C works better in my 951 than my other two cars!

Would it be a bad idea to try a used compressor?
