I've just switched over from a 928 to a 944 and now need a few things done.
This 944 was overheated and there is milkshake in the oil. I think the path of wisdom is to have the head done and check the block for deck flatness. The borescope exam shows the cylinders to look scratched, might have to deal with that too.
If this gets too painful, I'll be looking for a new engine.

if cylinders are scratched and the head is questionable, i'd start looking for another engine. for sure, the rod bearings and main bearings are questionable as well.
if somehow u can score a complete bottom end, that'd be a perfect world.
