Starter spins at Key On

Here we go again...
I realize that some of this is due to my goofy wiring between the S and the turbo harnesses, but, I've never heard of a problem like this.
So, I turn the key to accessory (turn 1), lights on.
Then, I turn to Key On (position 2), I hear the starter start to spin and then after a few seconds it will pop forward and hit the flywheel.
Any thoughts wiring wise why this might happen. At least it would quicken my search. How might someone be able to accomplish this?

I just had the battery recharged yesterday as well.
I've got spark and fuel delivery, but, I'm waiting to further diagnose the no-start until I can figure out this starter problem.

Sounds like you got a bad starter solenoid, or the very least a starter shaft / splines that is dry or full of debri therefor taking time and extra effort to engage the starter. If it were me i would pull the starter and bench test it or have it tested. Most likey the easiest part to start with. You may also have a bad or weak ground between the starter and the block, due to grease and grime or even paint.

IT LIVES!!!!!!!
I got it to start and somehow this problem seems to have vanished. I've made so many wiring changes it could have been any of them.
Now to deal with the BLARING horn that surprised me while the car was running AND the fact it won't shut off without pulling the coil plug. FUN!
