i was told its fairly easy to bend your control arm repairing the ball joint since you have to use a press. thats the only worry ive had on repairing them. and apologies for abandoning the thread.

The early steel arms have a different sway bar attachment type, but I think they can be modded. The steel arms are FLEXY tho. Get the sheetmetal & welder out.

Bend your Control Arm? Press? You just use a C-Clamp...

These instructions are great!

As i said, it's very Inexpensive and Easy! The hardest Part is: Getting the original C-Clip out.. I found you can just jam a Flat Head Screw Driver under it, and twist until it pops out!

I agree, the ONLY hard part is in removing the original c-clip. I used the dremel to drill a small hole behind the c clip right into the aluminum and then was able to get a small but sturdy screwdriver behind it and pry that clip out. Once that's done it's an easy easy job. Mix the epoxy really well and don't over pressurize it with the grease gun and you will be good to go!

I like this kit. No plastic parts, proper dust boots & hardware. Includes also a balljoint's saft seal, most kit does not have.
Even improved version is on it's way.

The lower cup sees almost no wear. This is evident to anyone who has ever taken an OEM joint apart. The original plastic lower cups, even with 200k+ miles, still have the grease grooves in them.

The "shaft seal" is actually a plastic sleeve to keep the boot from compressing, FYI. All of the Rennbay kits have been updated as of 6 months ago with OEM type rubber boots that include both retaining rings as well as the plastic sleeves.

Just shoot us over an email. I would be happy to send you out replacements.

Again Olli, I have to correct you. The VW golf boots do not fit for the same reason you can't just take the boots off of an early 944 ball joint and use it on a late aluminum arm. Though the pin diameter is the same, the lower portion of the boot is quite a bit larger on the aluminum arms. You can stretch a VW boot over it but they end up splitting rather quickly starting at that lower edge.
