I have a 1983 944.
I've been redoing the interior all winter.
I noticed that my drivers side window doesn't really go up and down smoothly. While looking and poking around I found this on the bottom of the inside of the door.

I am assuming it's a guide for the window? Looking at the other side that's what it is.
Can I reattach it?
How?

I'm not sure about early models, but mine had screws to attach it in 2 places to the lock mechanism protector plate (so the door can't be jimmied). This plate attaches along the top edge of the door, there should be a screw hole about halfway between the front and back.
I added a picture to explain it better, I'm pretty sure you use one of the top holes that I circled, but possibly the bottom one as well. It's been a while since I had my door apart, but if you run into more trouble I can pull mine apart to check how it attaches - got stuff to do in there anyways and I should probably stop putting it off...
