I have an early 944 power rack and pinion assembly.
I know there are longer inner tie rods from the later 944's, but because of radical suspensiion modifications, I need inner tie rods shorter than the early 944's, probably at least an 1.5" shorter per side.
Are there other Porsche inner tie rods with the male M14 x 1.5 thread on both ends, that are at least 1.5" shorter, and use the same protective boot, or one that can be modified?

You may know that Porsche built a prototype for Studebaker in 1956.

Well, this isn't it. It's a Studebaker with an assortment of manufacturers, including this early Porsche 944 rack.

The Porsche rack was perfect for the proper center to center distance of approx. 22.6" between center to center of the inner tie rod pivots.
This leads to the search for appropriate length inner tie rods, as mentioned earlier.
If you are interested in it's construction, with a unique independent Dana 44 rear axle, and it's chassis and drive train, go here: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/album.php?albumid=8376
