What do we think? Priced right? I think it is priced more fairly than the one on ebay for nearly $28k all stock. But for that money you can have a very clean 968 or, for a tad more, a late 70's early 80's 911 in need of some tlc. Depends on preference I suppose, but any higher in price and the options begin to really open up on what else you can buy.
There is nice car for sale which won't break your piggy bank ,exemple this one here on Rennlist -90-S2 asking $10K .Take time to look around ,got nothing against the 951 but it's not the only 944 worth buying. This one is located in NY.

There it is, location (Gauthier MS) 94 -6spd W/ LSD all maintenance up to date 127k miles asking $11,900.oo.So as you can see there is lot of choice out there so why spend that kind of money for a 23 years old 951.

My point exactly my friend. Many would argue it is a piece of history when it comes to the turbo s with it being the fastest production porsche until the 993tt came up (excluding the 959 of course). Either way, if I had 10 to 15k to spend on a porsche right now, I would walk straight over to the 968. Main reason being is the fact that Is with the M030 suspension on it, it is almost, if not better, handling than the 944 and you get many mechanical updates from the 944 as well. My love for the 944 is endless, but there is a price cap to consider I believe.

And yet another one passes by me when I don't have the money. If it was a few months from now I would seriously be considering that 89.. Fairly priced too, I must say.

IMO and that's given freely so of that value, I have seen many cars that were once common, and everyone who had one modded the wazoo out of it, become sort after, and go through the roof price wise. The 944 is something special(IMO) and sure it's easy to get a lot more out of it, but an un-modded version, will be were the money is at, down the track. Just look what live in NY spent creating a like new one, and it's easy to see that while you can always buy a cheaper car, the mint low mileage ones are the ones that will just keep going up in price, and are already starting to get a lot harder to find.

An Un-modded mint Australian GTHO falcon, which when new, was the fastest production 4 door in the world(and sold for about AUS$4,000), now sell for incredible amounts of money(read obscene $x00,000+), but a modded version is lucky to get a tenth the price. If you are buying the car because you see the value in a mint low mileage version, then go for it, despite ppl saying there is better value, but if you just want a clean car to mod, then go with the cheaper options. The value of anything is only what someone is prepared to pay, but if you own one of the few rare mint examples, then it's a sellers market, and time is on your side.

They may never be worth what a rare 911 RS is worth, but to think that they will never be worth what any 911 is worth, is dismissing just how good these cars are. We all love them, and for a good reason, and like the GTHO that was cheap and common at one point, there comes a day when all good cars are valuable, and that's when all the mint original ones have gone, and people realise just how a good a car they are, and want one.
peace
