[QUOTE=josephm;8439095]After another dissapointing result to a nice sounding 951 ('89 white on e-bay w/52k mi) for sale, I have to ask the following question;

To owners of 944's who's dashboard is not full of dash cracks, can you please provide a public service announcement to advise what you do to prevent this occurance

Car is ex 83-944 with 110K mls garage & out of the sun if I had to leave outside for long periode of time I took time to cover the dash,of course we don't have the kind of heat up here that you guys get down south.Secret wash all leather - vinyl with mild soap water solution then apply on leather (Tannery Vintage) for rubber & vinyl including engine compartement & trims ( Meguiar's Mirror Glaze no 40 ) car was done at least twice a year.If needed to clean rebelious greasy seat or any leather parts (Vim Power Cream) can be use "spray a small area at the time & rince with soap & water" then treat with products already mention ,did my 968 seats last summer & it turn out real good.As you can see my 968 interior color combo is not the easiest to keep clean.Warning lot's of pics.

I was told armoral was bad for our dash's and I keep the car when it's at home either in the garage or under a car cover.

Hello everyone, my name is Shane. This is my first post and i am not sure if i am allowed to post a 951 for sale. Let me know if this is ok, i have a very nice 951 that i think is time to sell for family purposes, hate to let it go. Do i have to be a paid member to post? if that is the case, ill pay and be a member. I would like my car to go to serious 951 fanatic then anyone else, so this seems to be the place for that

Thanks.

My car has no cracks (knock on wood). It stays in the garage/shade when not on the road, and I crack the windows on hot days, even in the garage. No armoural or other lotions...

May I suggest Tom, get any garden variety window shade for the windshield when parked outside in the sun. With cracked side windows it helps a LOT.

I'm a fan of Rob Budd's work. Surprised no one has mentioned this yet. Get one of those nice cars that are perfect except for the dash, earmark a little money to get a new dash
