Default oil flow question.

just wondering if the oil pressure relief valve fails into full open position would some oil still get to the rod bearing/ main bearings. I know with no pressure oil would not travel up to the cam but would the crank still get any oil even if there is no pressure?

i'm just wondering because 2 years ago my oil pressure relief valve failed. I had the 3 piece spring type oprv and the metal cylinder that it rides in, inside teh block came loose and that caused zero oil pressure.

would this mean that zero oil was getting to my rod bearings or would some oil still get to teh bearings but with no pressure?

i'm asking cus this was 2 years ago and my car idled for probably 5 minutes with zero pressure (while warming up in my garage) and so far the car still runs with no knocking and oil pressure still seems fine for a high milliage motor (300,000 kms approx). 5 bar cold idle, 2 bar hot idle and around 4 bar when hot and rved above 2500 rpm.

if u had 0 oil pressure and was actually driving at speed, there would definitely be wear. but idling....depending on alot of factors including luck, there might be nothing appreciable.
