sorry about pics, as they are from iPhone

This is basically a test unit, as it was my first overlay on plastic. I learnt a few things so am going to make another one that is perfect. I will leave fader control covered this time, and Alarm light mount, and will mount the alarm led in a nice chrome bezel, directly through carbon fibre

peace

nah they decrease structural rigidity The ad for my car actually said it had a sunroof(which I didn't want) so was stoked when I saw that the car didn't actually have one. Knowing what I know now regarding leaks etc, I am really glad it didn't have one

any pics of the finished product? i'd def like to upgrade the sounds, but it would have to be concealed--anything in the open will get stolen. does mounting the amp in pass footwell interfere w/the dme or problems w/pass kicking it? i love the v12 btw.

Slightly OT but related. Has anyone installed the Parrot Android based system? I like the fact that the faceplate is removable and it fits in a single DIN space leaving the storage tray below intact.

Punky....

you show exquisite taste on your subwoofer cab.

it is centimeter by centimeter 98.835 % identical to mine.

the question is;

was this devine inspiration or is something far more sinister at play ?

lol OD I was just working with the limited space Porsche left me to use, and that I thought would allow me to blend it in and be as unobtrusive as possible . The CF may not be everyone's cup of teabut no matter what car I work on I try to design it like I imagine the maker would have done had they wanted to fit what I was fitting. Obviously they wouldn't have used CF back then but I just love the stuff, otherwise I would have probably painted it guards red(to highlight it), black (if I was going stealth)or black carpet(stealth plus I was time poor).
All I can suggest OD is that sometimes great minds think a like

I have used this technique in Porsches before and it is a common technique. What you do is mount long bolts through the original DME cover board so you can space another board off it. Using a 4 inch bolt for example you mount bolt through board into cabin area, secured to original board with a nut. You then put another nut 3 inches above it on bolt shaft. Then you place new board on this with enough thread to lock the new board on with a 3rd nut. You are really making a false floor with amp mounted in between.

This protects amp from passengers feet but does make passenger foot well smaller. As amp is mounted to the wood, it is isolated from metal around DME and KLR so wont interfere with them. Any decent amp should be designed well enough to not get any interference from the DME/KLR too.

if you use Rockford's special shallow box transducer, you're bass will be amazing.

i'm so happy with my sound system.... it's a big influence for planning my V8 swap to be as quiet as possible.
