degrees in duration are not difference, it can be seen if we compare:

968 Basic Timing

Intake opens 7.5deg before TDC
Intake closes 52 deg after BDC
Exhaust opens 31 deg before BDC
Exhaust closes 1 deg before TDC

968 Torque timing (with Variocam activated)

Intake opens 7.5deg before TDC
Intake closes 37 deg after BDC
Exhaust opens 31 deg before BDC
Exhaust closes 1 deg before TDC


944

M44/41
Intake opens 3deg before TDC
Intake closes 40 deg after BDC
Exhaust opens 36dge before BDC
Exhaust closes 4 deg before TDC
