Default Clutch Pedal is sticking on floor

Hi, my 944 S clutch seems to be working fine when engaged. The pedal has smooth operation but wants to stick near the stop on the floor. It does release but not like it should. I've checked for clearance on the linkage and lubed everything. I see no leaks in the boot and am missing no fluid. The car sat for quite some time prior to my purchase and it looks like the slave cylinder was recently replaced. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John

I wonder if the master cylinder has issues. I'm not an expert on this one but the only time I ever had a problem with my clutch pedal sticking when when I was bleeding it and I pushed it all the way down. If the slave looks good then maybe the master is on its way out...?

BB.

My car did this several times before I replaced the slave cylinder and has been fine since then. If it looks new it might not have been bled properly.

It will be either your clutch master cylinder is going, or the slave, or both. You can try bleeding the system but odds are its the master or slave.

+1 on the Master Cylinder. I ended up replacing mine and bleeding to fix the problem.

That happens on my Turbo S after sitting for a long time (over a month). However I just pump it and it eventually comes back and works fine. I figured it is a weak slave or master than drains down when sitting, but when I work it the seals swell it works again. I see no evidence of fluid anywhere.

Mine was the slave cylinder. I had to fairly aggressively "tap" the slave to get the bubbles out, worth a shot before you replace it.

Agreed, master and/or slave cylinder....I had to replace both as they were both leaking on me. I also replaced the line.

Thanks for all the feedback. We bled the system and found that there was a tremendous amount of air in it. We actually had to pinch the line to the master several times to get it to fill properly with fluid. Once that was done it is now working again. It also appears that the pressure plate may be weak as well so I may have to change the clutch setup.
