Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but I just wanted to share this on here with ya'll. I Got a 1983 Porsche 944 in nearly showroom quality for $1,000 today, from the original owner. The guy bought the car when he was 27 in 1983 off the showroom floor. He's parked it in a garage the entire life of the car, it was never left out in the rain and when outside, was covered. It has the original owners manuals and service receipts, not even any bent corners. It also still has the little sticker on the bottom of the windshield from the Porsche dealership when it was brand new. I will post pictures tomorrow. It's already dark here or else I would now. So anyway, I figure this things to good to be true when I hear about it. I drive 121 miles to go see it and I am glad I did. Only thing wrong with it was Ignition coil (replaced with MSD Blaster 2). and the clutch has a small leak in the line from the master to the slave cylinder. I bled the clutch and got it back to life. I will take it (the hose) in tomorrow to have a new one made at the hose shop. $1,000 Crazy!

Hey, I've never seen an early model with that big red reflector set between the brake lights. That's normally where the license plate goes, with license plate lights under the lip. What is up with the body style there?

Anybody that says buy a Turbo really does not really appreciate great 1983 engineering for what it is. I just got my 83 out today and had a blast driving. Yes, I have faster cars but the car is not exactly slow either. We are talking about a car that can creep up on 130 and still get near 30 mpg. Another thing I like about the 83 is the manual steering and classic feel the interior gives you. Enjoy your cars guys. In my opinion 83 is a great year for the 944. Maybe you other guys should sell your Turbo and buy a 968 or 928 S4, or for that matter sell your Turbo and buy a Z06 if you really want to go fast. LOL.
