2.7 Water Pump on 2.5
For starters, I'm gathering the parts for my first timing belt change.
From what I've read, the only difference is that the 2.7 uses a larger impeller. The 2.7l water pump is the same casting as the 2.5l, which means they will bolt on to the 2.5l. So I'd be moving more water mass, sounds like a plus. The only thing I'm worried about are the pulley sizes being different.
Has anyone used the 2.7l on a 2.5l?
The reason I ask is that the 2.7l pump is cheaper than the 2.5l. I don't know why, maybe the bearings are cheaper for the larger impeller. But more performance for less money sounds too good to be true.
I'm a college student, so every little bit saved helps. I'm not trying to cheap out, just trying to save money. For instance, I'll be pressing in new $5 bearings into the rollers vs. replace the rollers at $30 a pop.

While I haven't looked at my 3.0L motor (which uses the same pump) in a while , IIRC the block is cast differently which won't accommodate the larger impeller of the 2.7L pump.
