Default Do replica Fuchs fit the 944 line?

Do these Euromeister Fuchs wheels fit the ('83-'86) 944? ..and / or the ('86) 944 Turbo. Are they the correct offset to fit 7" up front and 8" rear?

Did a quick search and couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciated!

yes on the non turbo, but since they specify, it's probably a caliper clearance issue with the brembos. They must have used a 911 part # wheel instead of a 951.

Thanks. Looking at the idea of building a 924 Carrera GT look-a-like. I'd like to start with a 924S, but it looks like Fuchs won't fit on them, so I'd have to start with an early 944 and deal with the inaccurate rear fender flares.

Doug,

The replica Fuchs will fit your 924S just fine if you are using it as a basis for a 924 CGT clone. The reason they say they won't fit is because they would stick out past the 924 fenders/quuarters due to offset. But with 924CGT fenders and quarters on they will fit just fine.

Those are a copy of the 911 part# Fuchs so they won't fit over 951 and larger brakes, so keep that in mind if you are thinking about a larger brake option for your build. They will fit over the 930 brakes which would be a nice period touch for that build (if you can budget for them as they are pricey$$$$).

Thanks tifosiman, that's good to hear! I was worried that the wrong offset would put the wheels too far into the wheel wells or something or interfere with internal suspension parts. I'm not worried about fitting over brakes because this is a budget build and I doubt I'll ever upgrade to larger brakes. If I do, it will be far enough down the line that I'll have saved for them and better wheels at the same time. I'm thinking of just trying to build the lightest 924S / 944 I can find while still maintain some civility. It would be somewhere between production 924 Carrera GT and stripped out racing GTS.

Just the opposite Doug, the more shallow offset (et 10.5) will push the wheels "out" towards the outside of the fender wells.. hence as mentioned, they would fill up the 944 / 924GT flared fenders quite well.

Remember offset is the difference between the wheels true centerline and its mounting surface. Somewhere bill verbung had a nice chart showing a centerline and the resultant difference in wheel positions based on varying ET and Wheel widths...

Thanks, I understand what you're saying, I just thought I had heard / read that the replica Fuchs interfered with the suspension on later 944s for some reason. Maybe they were talking about sticking out beyond the fender, but I don't know why it would then make a difference which 944 (pre '86 or post '86) you mounted them too? Did the post '86 944s have hubs pushed out more or something?

Thanks.

The early steel trailing arms had a removable spacer, the 86 aluminum arms have the spacer integrated into the hub.

and in '87 porsche had to change the suspension geometry and hubs to account for ABS. All ABS equipped cars (MB, BMW etc) had an offset change to accomodate.

Don't forget Braid wheels semi-forged Fuchs replica. Available from 4x15 thru 12x15 and 4x16 thru 10x16. Many finish specs can be accomplished including RSR, colors, standard black, etc.

If anyone has a real interest, call me and I will get them specified, quoted and built to your individual requirements.
