Thanks FRporsceman I'm hoping to get the fuchs fixed up in the next few months.
.
my g/f worked at copper in the of winter 2003 we don't really use snow tyres in NZ its very mild and the snow doesn't come down far enough. people use chains at the most often. but i totally agree about skis under the hatch, they do fit quite nicely.
As it turns out- I love washing my car, just so i can find the defects and know what i want to fix. the rear right corner had orange peel in the paint and the tail light wasn't quite flush so I always suspected. As it turned out, yes it did have a previous prang in that corner. the panelbeater didnt think the previous repairs were done that well.
when my g/f rang me on skype she was crying but i was very much not concerned about her rather than the car she calmed down. I had wanted to get the front bumper done and a cosmetic respray anyway.
You should take it up as long as you have all seasons or snow tires on it. I took my 924s to copper mountain 20 times last year and its fantastic in the snow. Ive found i don't miss having a rack though, i can fit 2 snowboards and all the gear needed in the hatch easily. Its nice not having any additional drag at 10,000 feet, the car is working hard enough from the altitude without the extra drag 2 big snowboards create at 75mph
