Default KLA oil pan gasket retaining braket

I am still several months away from doing this (after all this winter's projects I think I will save this one till next year) however I was wondering if anyone has tried these

http://www.klaindustries.net/

Changing the oil pan gasket looks like a royal PITA!! so why not put some prevention and prolong the next install?

Mine is only slightly sweating right now, so I think I will wait till I have to some other work to replace the gasket, but I think these would be a good idea while I am at it. Anyone try them?

I have never found the need for one. I have probably done 6-7 pan gaskets.

That's precisely what I am trying to avoid, I don't want to do it 6-7 times, for some of us it's a HUGE and expensive PITA!! So if this bracket helps, then it's exactly what I need.

IMHO, it's worth the price. Then again they only contain the side of the pan gasket. Looks like mine is developing a split at the front.

The front curve gives me way more trouble then the sides. Id really like a pan that was grooved for the gasket.....though I guess a groove might require a thicker gasket....One of these days if I finally go dry sump....I'll design some retention....even if only on one side.

I have done 6-7 pan gaskets only because these are on 3 different cars, 2 street cars and one race car. I change the rod bearings often so over 10+ years is not strange to change pan gaskets a few times. No sense putting an old one back on. I have done 3 or so gaskets with the engine in the car and the rest in an engine stand.
