Hi all,

With the help of this and other Rennlist threads, I've just finished LED conversion on my 1994 968 6MT Instrument Cluster (illumination bulbs and indicator bulbs except oil pressure & voltage).
I have noted the circuit board polarity for the indicator LEDs to save time on the fellow 968 owers.
Also, I've learned (from Rennlist threads and 'the hard way') that the AIR BAG light socket has to retain incandescent bulb, because the air bag controller connected to this socket supposedly has a bulb-out check function, and
if it doesn't sense enough current upon ignition on, it will trigger air bag warning along with "!" indicaton.

Hope this helps,

Ha! I did only my 3 illumination bulbs, but at the time I couldn't understand how I got so lucky as to have put all 3 in the right way around the first go.

I didn't realize those were non-polarity.

Thanks jeyjey.
Yeah, 194-WW5 LED bulb from SuperBrightLEDs.com is not polarity sensitive, as advertised by the seller: 194 LED Landscape Light Bulb - 5 LED - Miniature Wedge Retrofit - 30 Lumens - Warm White (superbrightleds.com)

In my post above I noticed I forgot to include the caution about the indicator light bulbs, B8.5D-NWHP (polarity sensitive) contact points not protruding enough (needs to be bent UP to protrude just above surrounding plastic).
My set (16 pieces) had contact failure rate of approximately 50% as-manufactured, which adds another pitfall to already complicated polarity findings.
I'm an engineer by trade, so this type of functional imperfection (I'd call it quality defect) really upsets me, but fortunately we are all educated, mechanically handy people here.

Since I don't seem to edit my previous post above, I've added the update here.
