I found a Sunset Porsche on the web. Don't know if this the same one or not. They sell a lot of OEM parts. Their price for a 968 CS wheel was over $1400.00! I could do a lot to my car for that kind of money.
I realize I am always touching the wheel when driving, but my tires and brakes are are part of the driving experience too. Might better put the $1400.00 to use there instead.

Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota, FL has the Porsche 968 CS wheel for $523.00. that's about the lowest you'll find them for anywhere. there's also one on ebay right now with a customized color crest. on the Suncoast pricing... pm me. i can direct you to the right person who can get you an additional 20 % coupon for that item.
their parts website is also pretty good.

Same here, last year Sunset had the CS for sale at $343.00.Of course I live in Canada difference in money-shipping -custome ect ect bring the price up once here. Don't remember will be looking for receipt but it came to over $400.00 install in my car,in June last year Sunset was the cheapest place where you could buy a CS.Can't imagine them going from the price I paid for mine to $1,400.00,that why __Ontario Turbo__ I suggest you give a call to Jeff at Sunset.

i don't like buying from the Porsche dealer. i have about 4 stores that blow the dealer's doors on prices for many oem or = quality parts. example: 968 caster blocks. outrageiously priced at ALL the dealers, you can get oem caster blocks at Zims in Texas for 55 dollars each side.... Sunset is a fan favorite on Rennlist. they bend over backwards to get things right and they always do. they developed a solid reputation a while back, and for very good reason, it has stuck.
there is another dealer in here in the US that has basically the same prices as Sunset. both their parts departments are extremely knowledgable in the "motorsports" context, ie; they know we want to go BIGGER and better on a lot of stuff for our cars. call an ordinary dealer and they very often won't try to help you.... the next time you're picking up your oem 993TT or 928GTS calipers, don't just call Sunset and assume you're getting the best price.... two years ago Suncoast saved me about 90 bucks over what Sunset was charging on my GTS calipers and discs. so i like to include them in the conversation. i like to call BOTH dealers. their prices are usually the same, and well-below the costs of everyone else. how they do this is somewhat of a mystery to me. maybe Porsche has a listing for (lowest price allowable) for each part.
Suncoast has the better website for some of the stuff we need.
but......
i'm looking at the SunCOAST accessory page, and i'm in shock. ok maybe situation normal. leave it to Porsche to jack up prices by what appears to be almost double !! so i call Suncoast and SunSET to compare prices on some of the items you're seeing on the accessory page below....
http://www.suncoastporschesarasota.c...-Sarasota.aspx
sure enough, Porsche specialty parts have been jacked up unexpectedly. That included the 968 CS steering wheel... Suncoast also mentioned that the leather 996 wheels like the one i'm running in my car is a very popular item. Porsche increased the price 75 % - and during a recession no less.
remember: always call BOTH dealers and mention that you talked to the other. as each is well aware of the other, and there's still a bit of wigggle room on these Porsche's outrageous list prices on virtually everything.
you all know the Carrera GT carbon wheel i run in my car ? i'll have it in a few minutes... but, my guess is reflecting the higher prices, it looks like it's going to be about $1,890 w/out the airbag.
