Default So a piece for the window regulator broke today...

Any guesses on what it could be? 86 951, rolled the window down to get a funny smell out of the car, on the way up I heard a noise and realized that the window was off track... managed to fiddle with it to get it close to the top. Haven't had time to pull the door panel off (and it's really cold outside). What bad timing.

mine just fell out of its bottom seat--the glue/sealer failed. You might get lucky and find nothing wrong, but you'll have to pull the door panel and look...

deal with it for two days if you can--55 on saturday according to google.

The whole window regulator/scissor arm situation might be done. That's what happened to mine when my window liked to go up crooked.
What kind of noise? One of the little plastic rollers may be broken.

The rear guide rail is held in place by some tac welds, 2 screws and a sheet metal clip IIRC, the tac welds usually wear and break over time, and this can make the stupid screws vibrate out. Doubt this happened to you, but knowledge is power.

While you're in there check the wires that run into the door, because the insulation can wear away from the opening and closing of the door.
And..... umm... idk. That's all the fun I can think of having inside the door. lol

some just have a nut that holds the lower section to the door that falls off and the window starts getting loose- check it out.

update - plastic roller broke, bottom frame fell off the window.

Any way to get a replacement plastic roller besides getting another window regulator? Or any creative DIY fixes I could do possible?
