Post WTB: 951 in Cali

Here’s what I’m looking for…

* Exterior => The only colors I will consider are black or graphite metallic. However, I understand a 16+ y/o car will have issues with paint, dings, dents, maybe even minor bodywork, which I don’t mind as long as the price compensates for it.

* Interior => I’m pretty flexible in this area. Conditions of the seats are irrelevant, as they will be replaced with aftermarket seats anyways. Cracked dashes, damage to carpet, door panels, trim, etc are fine with me as long as the price compensates for it. Only thing I ask is that the electrical system is in very good working order.

* Mechanical => This is an area where I am not very flexible. I want something that is, mechanically speaking, in flawless shape. Must have had all recent work/service done (belts, clutch, water pump, etc) and records to prove it. Also, I won’t consider anything that has ABS .

* Spending limit => Depends on the condition of the car and the criteria it fulfills. FYI, I’d spend ~ $11k for an ‘86 in showroom condition with 90k miles, stock, records, blah blah blah.

Just a couple other details…
* Under 100k miles with records/receipts/etc.
* Clean title.
* I’m willing to travel anywhere within California.

A long shot, but I could include this toolbox in some sort of trade. It was purchased about a year ago for over $8,000 and only used for a couple of months. Check out the following link for the specs.... My price on it is $5,000 (not negotiable).

Also, I check the following sites a couple times a week. Rennlist, Autotrader, Yahoo autos, cars.com (SJ Mercury), sfgate.com (SF Chronicle), Ebay Motors, craigslist.org, recycler.com, germanusedcars.com, http://www.pca-ggr.org/links.html#ads . If you guys/gals know of any other sites that might help on my quest for a 951, please let me know...Thanks in advance!

-Mustafa

Good luck Mustafa.

Did I by chance help convince you that a 951 was the car for you?
