Post will they fit??

A set of 993 gts 17' wheels on my 85 n/a 944. I'm sure they'll need spacers but other than that is there any problem. Some guy with a 928 said no chance...but he's also bidding on the wheels.

Never heard of 993 GTS wheels....maybe you mean Cup 2? Or possibly Cup 3? Can you post a pic, or email me a pic and I'll post it since you aren't a member?

Is it an early 85 or a late 85?
If early, you will need spacers for the rears (the fronts _should_ bolt up, but someone else may advise otherwise).

If it's a late 85, I think they will bolt up no problem.

Not true. The early offset runs through 86. Ask me how I know

I have 993's on my car, but they're copies. I believe they would fit with proper spacers.

I believe they will fit. The only concern is spacers or not. They look great on my car, I think we have the same offset. If that is the case-you would need to use a spacer.

Go to tirerack.com, or some other wheel website-and look up the wheels for your car. You will be able to get the offset your car needs, and compare it with those wheels (or look for spacers).

I have no idea how spacers etc. effect the characteristics of the wheels, balancing, reliability, etc.

Your car uses early 23mm offset, so with correct spacers they'll fit. See Danno's web page at http://members.rennlist.com/951_racerx/, there's a page "spacers on pre '87 cars" which has good info on original Porsche parts that can be used for this. There are also several aftermarket spacers/adapters available.
