In the past week or so i've started hearing a low groaning sound coming out of the front drivers side of my car when i turn from a dead stop. It's not extremely loud and it doesn't affect how the car handles but it just sounds out of place and has been getting louder. I thought it might be the front wheel bearings at first but they were repacked by a good shop (PO shop did the work) just over 4K miles ago. I checked the archives and it sounds like it's either the wheel bearings or the CV joints but I just want to be sure. Anybody got any ideas what this sound might be? As always any help is greatly appreciated.

My vote (which means nothing) is for ball joints. You have to get the entire A-arm replaced. I don't believe the earlier models required this expensive procedure. Am I wrong? The driver's side always goes first.

I would check the power steering reservoir as that sounds just like my car when the rack leaked all the fluid out...BTW the underbelly pan can hold quite a bit of fluid.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll check out the power steering reservior tomorrow morning and let you know how it looks.
Fishy i hate to say it but i'm almost positive i won't be able to make it out to the 944Fest this year. Reason being is that the Air Force will be shipping me to Columbus AFB in Mississippi for pilot training in just over a week and i won't have the leave time since i'll be a newly commissioned officer. The year after shouldn't be a problem and i don't care where i'm stationed, by God i'm going to be at the Fest in '04!!!

Ok i checked the power steering and reservior and everything was fine, i'm not leaking fluid. Micah and I went to to Anderson, IN today to help Jerad look at a Turbo (very nice by the way) and both thought it might be loose or bad bushings on the front sway bar. Anyway, I'm going to have it checked out by Bob Farmer on Saturday so the problem should be fixed soon.
