Post Theory and Behavior of Ricers

I really appreciate that fact that so many people enjoy cars, but I know next to nothing of the ricer scene, so give me some help here, gang. What's the heirarchy with respect to make and model of cars, and why? What about factions? Who and what gets respect and why? No respect?

I must live in the Ricer Capital of the world. I can appreciate a "tuned" vehicle, truly set up to perform, and HANDLE. It is just hard to respect someone thats all show and no go when they are trying to sport both. A show car is one thing, a racer is something else. Stickers dont go fast. Coat racks for spoilers dont do anything except give the towing company something better to grab your car by when you go off the road street racing and realize they spent a grand on body kits and forgot to upgrade those drum brakes. Form Follows Function is Porsches slogan. And it is very true in sports cars. If you are going to add or replace...what does it do? Ok...you know what kills me, fake air vents. If its sealed up, or not even cut out...YOU DONT NEED IT! You dont need air vents like a testarossa when your engine is in the front. You dont need a scoop on you roof, when your engine is in the front! Two vending machine size quarter slots behind your door wont cool your brakes. (well...i guess some of these cars do have really small brakes...you never know...) Ok yes, very creative, someone took a car designed for groceries and made it quicker in a straight line. Nice. I dont buy it. Besides, a 944 can do soo much more, for less than the price of their mods!

well my dutch town has quite alot of ricers too. this is the feeling i get from the people i talk to, and what i think. with so many of these cars on the roads these days no longer is a riced up integra a big deal. there are so many integra's, eclipse's, mustange's(not a ricer), and civic's that nobody cares any more. its when you get in the more rare cars that people start getting "respect". there are 2 supras here. one that no one dares race(twin turbo, 30 grand in mods), and one NA auto that i kind of half raced and gave him a run for his money. there is one rx-7 that i know of.

VW is dying out. people dont care for them anymore. and has far as my 944 S goes, i would say the majority of people dont even know it exists. and the people that do, dont know what its capable of. like my co employee with his base model integra that my beat up rust bucket blazer beat, thinks he could beat my car.

anyway that is what i have gathered in my travels

It's all about the look. Must look like it goes fast. The more scoops and vents the better.

Unfortunately my friends spend a lot of time on the ricer boards, and basically over there, they'll believe anything you say. If you say you have a stock Civic and beat a Viper, they'll believe it...ahh how little of a real clue they have...

Everyone knows you have to put an intake tube and 3" exhaust (tip) to get that kind of power.
