Post Fuel pump whine

Fuel pump just started whining today, quite noticeable and annoying. Does the whine go away or will be pump need replaced? Can the car go a bit longer or is the pump ready to die? The pump has 91k on it so I wouldn't be surprised if everyone tells me to get a new one Thanks

Is it cold where you are? Most likely the whining is due to your female fuel pump. They typically are dressed for warm-weather and when it gets cold, you get a lot of whining noises. Replace with a larger volume male pump and you should be fine...

Check if your fuel pressure regulator is ok. if the pressure gets high in the fuel system( like my 100psi+) youll get whining from the fuel pump. plus you notice your car is running rich.

It seems to me that it started whining when it was warm, today is the warmest yet. I'll see if it whines during the cool morning tomorrow. I'm having my 90 service done within the next couple weeks, i'll have the mechanic check out the regulators.

Thanks

Yea i thought that it was when it got hot also, but now that i think about it. the car didnt whine as it started then as the pressure in the fuel system built up after the car ran for a bit it started whining.

And even though they have a thicker layer of subcutaneous fat, they still whine about it being cold.
