I definitely need one. Haven't had working AC for the past three summers. I am not going to go without it this summer. Life is too short to be drenched in sweat before reaching the gas station.

If you go used, you can find them for about $150.00 or so but you don't know the quality, its hit or miss. When my compressor went I found one in a PA. Porsche wrecking yard, low mileage wreck, and it has worked fine.I think the best price NEW may be Vertex in Miami, they sell a new rotary compressor for less than $400.00.

I have one that I removed from my 85.5 944 was working when I removed it. The only reason I removed it is that I don't need it in upstate New York. Make me an offer.

RAD951,I have a compressor off my 1987-944S that was working when I removed it,I replaced it because the clutch stopped working, the compressor was working fine.If the clutch is working on your compressor you could pop it off and install on this one,if interested e-mail me privately,I will let it go cheap.

Where did you post the e-mail to? I have changed my e-mail account to dfracolli@northernfcu.net. I have sent an E-mail to John to change it but I guess he has not had time.

Austin, TX here. I went part of the summer without A/C (and my car, had to have major work done). I borrowed my brother's 912E (w/dual weber carbs) for part of the summer (too bad he removed the A/C bc it weighed too much). I second not going another summer without A/C in a car!

I have a good compressor off of my '77 924 if anyone is interested. It worked when I took it off. As a matter of fact, I have the compressor, condensor, and heat exchanger all off of the same car if anyone is interested. I will sell them for reasonable price. I took the a/c system off of it because it just doesn't have enough spare power to run it.
