could someone explain to me how that guy turned around?? it seemed as if he'd have to have independent control over each brake... it looks like he locked the left front wheel only... how else could you get a car to spin like that at such a low speed?

Engage clutch, 1st gear, rev to redline, drop clutch, turn wheel. Might have to tap the brakes lightly with your left foot to keep the car from moving forward too much. Your car also needs a LSD to be able to perform something like that.

I wouldn't recommend it in a 944, 1st gear isn't particularly strong in our gearboxes. I used to do "stunts" like that all the time till I lost 2 teeth on 1st gear =).

If I remember, that thing is actually just blowing a radiator, or maybe even just a hose in that movie. They use extra-powerful water over in Italy, so the force is pretty impressive.

I saw that clip years ago and always wondered how he blew that motor...do they run them without oil among other things just to see what'll happen? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I remmber when that come out on some tv show. I want to say that a water hose broke, bcs of the harder water they have over there. I remmeber that his job was to test drive every car that is made, just not like that. Every x of cars he gets to do a "quality test," and he drives the hell out of the car.

yeah, I remember reading a couple of years ago when that video first came out that it was a heater hose.

" They use extra-powerful water over in Italy, so the force is pretty impressive. "

So is that like heavy water? The stuff they make nuclear bombs from?

Whoah finally I figure out what happened. I was convinced he blew the engine. This is a totally different story, makes me relax a little more. I saw that video about 2 years ago, SICK! Guy is an awesome driver too. The voice sounds like the other guy(not Tiff Needles) who does Top Gear reviews.
