Post Which end is the top, 250lb Welt. Springs

Jon and I installed my 250lb Weltmeister springs on my car last week. We assumed that the writing on the springs is supposed to face up (the end with the coils spaced further apart on the top). Is the part of the spring with the further spaced coils supposed to be on the bottom? The reason I got to thinking about it is because I saw some Welts and Koni's on Ebay and the springs were installed opposite of mine, the further spaced coils on the bottom, but then the writing on the spring would be upside down?? <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

I do not know, but as long as the springs fit in the spring-perches (cups) it does not matter.

It didn't seem like it would make a difference as far as how the spring functions, and yes they do fit into the struts just fine.

It's not going to make much of a difference Michael. We've debated it before and I usually tell folks to put the closer together coils on the top since that's the heavier part of the spring, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over having it installed either way.

I have taken out lots of konis and bilsteins and the progression (skinny & close ) is always on the bottom. I don't know why.

Thanks for the encouragement...

Seriously though, I have read a lot about replacing the torsion bars and hopefully learned from everyones mistakes.

The next step is Adrials Turbo S sway bars, some Koni sports from you guys, by then my tires should be about gone so I will order my 225/245's

Damn these cars are so much fun!!
