Default Cant get the ball joint into the spindle

Changed my A arm today because of a bad ball joint.

Everything went well except I cant get the ball joint to go all the way into the socket in the spindle. I have the bolt loosened all of the way. I have tried jacking up the A arm from under. Shaking, Rubber mallet and cant make it work.

Is there a trick I am missing.

Thanks

Mark

Yes

I had to loosen it to get the old ball joint off

Should i have to pry or anything to open up the socket?

Use a chisel and lightly tap it inbetween the pinch. If you have a good prybar that will probably work also, though chisel is the easiest.

Flat blade screwdriver, chisel, or something you have that will open the pinch enough...
