Cool

Hey Michael:
Is it just me that's getting sick of this lemon yellow kid or what??????? <img src="graemlins/sleep.gif" border="0" alt="[sleep]" />

Yeah I have a set of these Ronal Racing wheels.
They have magnesium centres and are the lightest three piece wheels that I have ever held.
They are even lighter than the Simmons that came on my car as well.
They are easily lighter than fuchs too.
(I own a set of each)
I called Ronal a while back and they are discontinued.
Why are you asking, you've got me extremely curious.

The brother of a guy I work with just bought an '80 924 that has these wheels. It has 46k miles and has been stored since '90.

Lemon -

Most of the time I think your comments are on topic, light hearted, and fun to read. Lately, you have stared to take on a "Craig-like" attitude, and it is not needed. We finally got rid of that POS, so please don't take his place.

As far as the wheels, I had a neighbor about 15 years ago that has a nice Blue 931 with the same wheels. Although I was all of 10 or 11, I remember him talking with my father saying they were very light and a very limited production. I would assume they are worth some cash.

Congratulations on a nice purchase.
These wheels are hard to find, and reminiscent of the 935 wheels that I would see on factory racers on the front wheels. They look funny from the side in pictures but in reality have quite large cooling ducts.

Perry, Craig was a little volatile, granted.
I chose not to read his posts basically.
I wonder if maybe Lemon's little brother (BRO' in his speak) has seized his computer and has spammed us with YO!! comments???? <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

Michael, my car was raced pretty hard and the wheels have a few small stress cracks in the hub
(5 bolt obviously, I have a 944). Tell your buddy to inspect them carefully.
The rim halves appear to be forged aluminum and the centre cast magnesium.

If it were me I would take good care of them as they in my opinion vintage and valuable.

Indeed ,Most of these are NLA and they are valuable, est at least 800.Alot of these Ronal wheels are from the early 80's and were quite commonly used in the racing circles . Most often on the audi ur quattro. It is unusual , based on my experience that they are 4 bolt though ,as most were 5 bolt. Most of these are very highly sought after .As was pointed out tho ,check for the stress cracks. I sold a set of nos 15x7,8 3yrs ago for 1000.00 HTH.

I thought they were ugly first look, too, but...Paint the inside a dark color like black or dark blue and they'd look mighty fine. If you keep 'em silver, get rid of that baby blue Ronig crap. That's the downfall.
