Post Change rear wheel bearings?

Now I need to change the rear wheel bearings - one side is noisy and I don't want to do half a job, so it's both sides. Anybody have any pointers, please? Can it be done without taking the control arms off the car? Is there a FAQ anywhere?

Thanks

Simon.

did the right rear side of our 85.5 and its still noisy. its anyone's guess as to what the heck the noise is. its a groan that gets louder with weight on the right and higher frequency with speed. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Job done - partly...

That snap ring is seriously vicious! As it happened, it was the outboard bearing that had failed so I replaced it and will have to buy a pukka pair of snap ring pliers ready to redo the job properly - which I will have to do anyhow as the bearing had rotated and worn the stub axle so that'll need replacing in the not-too-distant future. She's a lot quieter now...
