Mechanical repair is more of an attitude than ability. Attitude is, I am going to do this come hell or High water. Keep at it long enough you will get it done. Things are assembled in an order and disassembled the same way. The order that this happens in is in books. The Ultimate resource is right here on this list. I think to many times people are intimidated by the unknown. There will be no magical parts appear or disappear while you are doing it. Basically keep taking things apart in an organized manner till you get there. and it goes back together in the same way it came apart. 1 rule that is forgotten is that if you have to force it something is not right. Stop and make sure what you are doing is right,(books and list, sites on the net). Last thing is, If it comes apart, it will go back together.
Edit, small circlips may disappear at time of removal. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

Well said Dwight. One other point, education never comes cheap. Making mistakes under the hood is just another form of tuititon payments.

I appreciate the responses.
I can be bad with tools...about a year ago, I attempted to change the water pump, belts, headgasket, downpipe, and exhaust...but ended up failing miserably. I eventually had it towed down. Search back through the archives for my posts about the snap ring...I couldn't even get a frickin' snap ring out of the water pump! I'm sure some of you remember those posts...
Mouse, you brought up a good point. If my car is already broken...might as well try to fix it, and hopefully not break it some more.
The one thing that really worries me is the timing belt. I don't have any tool to retention it. That is my biggest concern...breaking the timing belt or having it slip. If that happens...well, then I'm even more ****ed than before I started.
Okay...so, which one is it? Oil cooler or cam housing? Both responses have been said. Mind you, in a span of 15 minutes of driving, it dumped/burned about a quart of oil...
I'll try to get more pictures tomorrow, to hopefully pin point what it is.

Kierf, I put the feelers out there. I'm here but am useless under the hood. There's Carl's Place. An independent Porsche shop that may have a mechanic interested in buying it. Repairing there will cost a lot though. I'm waiting for some other people to get back to me. email me if you like with a phone and I'll contact you if you like. Sorry about the car...
