Post advice on turbo FS

my friend is looking for a car and I kinda turned kim on to the 944's. he saw <a href="http://sorbera.home.texas.net/index.html" target="_blank">this car</a> for sale in his home state. it looks kinda good from the site. i admittedly am not a turbo expert....what do u guys think? too high milage? etc....any info appreciated. thnx.

As always, tell your friend to get a pre-purchase inspection by a professional mechanic familiar with the 944 series cars. It's pretty much never wasted money. Helps reduce the number of nastry surprises in the first few months of ownership, and may provide some leverage in price bargaining.

Did I mention get a PPI? 8)

ogt an e-mail from the owner...apparantly the belts were jsut done along w the head gasket. rod bearings are original.....is this a big problem? what kind of $ is it to get them replaced? and what is the damage incured if they fail? thanks 4 any help

If I'm not mistaken, that car has been for sale for a long time. I'd look hard at it before doing anything. Seems like I remember it being advertised here on rennlist 8 or 10 months ago. Must be a reason it hasn't sold, right? I could be wrong, but I'd definately invest in a pre-buy before committing to anything.
