Default Cheap supercars

cheapsupercars.com ranks the 968 as the 5th best car for under $10,000. Here is a link to the review.

Maybe they are trying to keep people from wrecking those early vipers, they are a handful and a lot seem to die violently as the hands of unskilled drivers

The 928 is not on cheapsupercars.com because the 928 is not cheap (to own)!

once the v8 is installed in the 968, it's the best supercar in the world for under 120 grand - in my opinion.

because for about that much, you can pick up a nicely kept Ferrari 360, and then drive it a "ways."

i think the "68" can be modified to be a truly, beautiful car. not to slight the "44," which is also quite the sweet car.

thanks for posting the link.

Besides the 968 I do like the Mit 3000gt twin turbo as a great car for under 10k. Great looking car and very similiar performance to the 968.

Couldn't agree more on the NSX, add $15K for a turbo system and it's a true supercar even by today's standards!

I can't wait for that car to be done, you can read about the complete build here:

Still, way more cost and effort than a turbo setup

Agreed.
Realistically a 944/951/968 with an LS motor for under 10K

I think for most people, a supercar has to just be bought, not built. Part of the fun of it is to just walk up to someone, throw cash onto the table, and drive away in a road monster.

The NSX is suprisingly fast. I'd say it's a supercar with the stock engine. I guess not by today's standards, but definitely back in the 90s. A friend of mine has a supercharged NSX and loves it. Definitely not a sub-10k venture though!

I agree the NSX is a great car but I do not see any clean ones going for less than 25K, and it is not much faster than the 968. Later ones look to be about 5 sec. for 0-60 and early ones around 6 sec. So value for fun factor I think the 968 is a much better buy. Supercharge a 968 and you arein elite company. I know I would much rather have twin 968's in the garage vs one NSX.
